logo work from the first half of 2022

2022 is my first official year of going independent as an artist and designer. From having to wear different hats, learning about filing taxes, to setting healthy boundaries with work, it’s been quite an adventure!

There were times when I doubted my decision to go independent and if I’m really meant to be on this path (hello, impostor syndrome!). But looking back, I’m so grateful I pressed on. So here’s a recap of how my business went and the clients I had the privilege of working with! I’ve always considered developing a brand’s logo such a big honor because it feels like I’m bringing their vision to life through design.

This is one of the first ones I got to work on this year. It’s a design study for an app that helps freelance designers streamline their workflow and client coordination. The main inspo for this is a flow chart!

I read a quote somewhere that says it will be quicker for your client to become your friend than your friend becoming your client. And I’m so grateful that’s not applicable to this friend of mine who let me design her logo for her website and page about financial literacy! She even commissioned me to paint artworks for some of her clients.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d get the opportunity to design for someone from Africa! I thank God that we have technology that allows this. What makes me even more grateful is the heart of their brand—to help African youth get trained to revive exquisite textile-making traditions.

Here’s a monogram I designed for them:

WIP is a blog site that chronicles Humphrey Chan’s learning journey through various topics. I enjoyed working on this one because Humphrey gave such a detailed brief for the project! I appreciate how we started with a clear direction for this project.

The next 2 logos are for family! The first one is for my cousin who recently learned how to bake and wanted to start sharing the recipes she developed to the community. The next one is for my parents’ pharmacy business in the province with a “health and healing are in your hands” concept.

And here’s the latest logo design work I made for a tennis club!

I look forward to adding new ones as I keep going!

All praise and thanks to God for providing for me!!!!
