no unread message in His inbox

As someone who regards an inbox with zero unread messages as an achievement…I am so happy to see this I had to take a screenshot!

For context, I actually try to go through all the emails I receive—whether it’s saying I won a $500 gift check from a very suspicious looking username or a newsletter from a blog I subscribed to years ago. Keyword is try. Haha because most of the time I scheme and just delete them right away, especially if the headline doesn’t pique my interest.

Then the Holy Spirit, in His creative way of ministering to me, reminded me that God isn’t like that.

God doesn’t quickly scan through our lengthy prayers. He doesn’t get bored listening to us go on about the most mundane details of our day.

And I am soooooo grateful He isn’t like me who sometimes unsubscribes to newsletters that no longer serve me.

We can come to Him.

We can still come to Him, even if we think we’re unworthy.

We can send Him a message—in the form of a prayer, an ugly cry, a creative journal entry, or a humbly uttered sorry.

He isn’t too preoccupied to listen. Jeremiah 29:12-13 tells me so.

After every amen, I can rest assured that every message sent to Him—prayers boldly proclaimed or silently whispered, every tear shed, every writing on our journals, every happy story we share… reaches His ear.

And we can look forward to His replies, too, through His Word. My prayer is that my inbox will never be too full that I miss out on what He is trying to say. 💌
